- Open the kit. Label the collection tube with the patient’s full name, date of birth and collection date.
- Remove the flocked swab without touching the sampling tip or letting it contact other surfaces. Collect the specimen.
- Insert the swab tip into the liquid Amies buffer. Break the shaft at the marked breakpoint against the side of the tube.
- Keep the swab tip fully immersed in the buffer. Replace and tighten the cap.
